Dolce & Gabbana to Dress Up the Italian National Team For The World Cup 2014

Though it is still early doors to predict the winner of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, the Italian National Football Team are running away with it in terms of the Best Dressed Team accolade. Thanks to Dolce & Gabbana, the Italians have a cutting edge with the designers designing their formal uniform that will be donned by the team at this year’s highly anticipated football competition.

The Azzurri, as the national team is more affectionately known in Italy, have been dressed by the creative duo since 2006.

To celebrate this long standing partnership, Dolce & Gabbana is publishing a book of photographs portraying the national team players in their World Cup regalia: a navy blue traditional three-piece Martini suit in light wool, with a new Italian-flag motif tie, as well as casual gear such as trench coats, nylon jackets, jersey T-shirts, cotton pants, and wool sweaters, all in signature navy blue.

The photo-book is in support of a charity project by the FIGC: the “Fundacao Vida a Pititinga” (, a non-profit organization founded in 2004 in the North East of Brazil with the aim of raising funds to help to the community of Pititinga.

With Pititinga located not too far away from Natal, where the Italian National Team will play against Uruguay on 24th June, it seems likely that the Azzurri might just pay a surprise visit to the small fishing village!`
