Spring is here! Issue 7 delves in the world of renowned menswear designer, Angelo Galasso. The 2016 SIHH releases from the watchmaking powerhouses such as Cartier, Audemars Piguet, Piaget and Richard Mille take centre stage in this issues horology segment, with a special editorial of Rolex’s historical ties to the world of exploration. As part of our continued ‘Featured City’ series, the team jets off to Istanbul, Turkey to put together a luxury guide to the city’s offering.

The dream of possibilities we all hold in our minds have the ability to set us on remarkable paths and our passions and values drives us to always strive for better, not only as a brand but as individuals. With the cessation of the winter season, our European spring tour looks at some of the finest destinations and hotels across the continent. Taking center stage in this issue is the city of Paris, as we continue the Featured City series exploring the sights, tastes and history of France’s capital city. Paris is a city undoubtedly immersed in culture, art and fashion with its history deeply rooted in the world of luxury. From the iconic Four Seasons George V to the colourful dessert havens of Pierre Herme and the art filled musée du Louvre, the city offers vast amounts of activities – making it one of the world’s top must-visit cities. Inspired by the artistic nature of the front cover and each segment of the issue features hand sketched images by our design illustrator, Kanyinsola O. Legatto Insights spends a day at ESPA Life at the Corinthia Hotel, London before taking a tour of the next generation luxury series of hotels with the Edition, starting off in London before jetting off to Istanbul and Miami with future sights on the New York Edition hotel later this year. We also spent some time at this year’s Dubai International Boat Show as we begin to look ahead to the summer activities. Our fashion editorials explore the spring-summer collections unveiled in Paris, Milan, London and New York, looking at the creations of Brioni, Burberry, Hermes,  Dolce & Gabbana and Prabal Gurung just to name a few. This issue’s fashion segment would not be complete without a paying a visit to one of the oldest French trunk & luggage makers, Moynat, going through some of its most recent creations as well as its iconic pieces. For the horology aficionados amongst you, our watch & jewellery segment covers an array for striking pieces for men and haute jewellery pieces for women, ending with an insight into the mindblowing artistic microengineering world of MB&F. Bold concepts of speed and luxury were the focus of our cars in this edition, as we look at the Mercedes AMG GT, Ferrari’s 488 GTB, the Aston Martin Lagonda Taraf and the design prowess of the newly unveiled Bentley EXP 10 Speed 6 – as well as a special look at the UAE based W Motors’ creations. An interesting new era of holographic computing is upon us as we take a look at the Microsoft Hololens, before delving into the space age technology of the recently released Senturion Key. As the gears of the new year continues in its motion, we aim to work hard in bolstering up our reach to ensure we deliver a treasure trove of the finest content from the world of luxury.

This issue marks yet another anniversary of the Legatto Lifestyle Magazine, and as such it was important for us to reflect on our journey so far and begin to buckle up for all that is to come.  As myself and the rest of the Legatto Lifestyle team button down the hatches and tighten the screws in eager anticipation, I cannot help but re-visit our strive for perfection as we continue to soldier on in our quest. Throughout the years, I have had the pleasure of meeting and spending time with a number of individuals who have had a great deal of influence on myself and ultimately the Legatto Lifestyle brand. They say most unique experiences in life result from the perfect combination of places visited, and the remarkable people we come across in those unforgettable moments. Even though we may no longer be in close contact with some of these people, the thought of meeting once again is undoubtedly enthusing. This anniversary issue delves back into our core philosophy, which is based on our passion for luxury. Content is king in this issue as we focus all 276 pages on showcasing the finest in the world of luxury. Kicking off the Legatto Insights segment, we step into The Charles – New York’s first full-floor-only, luxury residential tower, browsing through its light-filled 32 storeys into the city’s illustrious skyline. Rovos Rail takes us on a different voyage across Southern Africa taking us on 8 unforgettable train journeys.  We relive the glory of yesteryear as look forward to the upcoming Chantilly Arts & Elegance taking place at the Chantilly gardens in France and the Concours d’Elegance motor show as we peruse some of the rarest cars in the world, from around the world, taking place at Hampton Court Palace.Our fashion segment looks ahead into Autumn Winter ’14 as we showcase this year’s Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week, before taking a look at some of the striking Pre-fall collections unveiled by a selection of the fashion powerhouses.Continuing our Featured City series, the city of Rio de Janeiro takes centre stage as the sun sets on the 2014 FIFA World Cup. The breath-taking ‘city of God’, boasts numerous must-visit locations, restaurants, beaches and festivals making it a perfect contender as it graces our front covers. From speed demons to the ultimate indulgence, we take an in-depth look at Bugatti’s special limited edition ‘Black Bess’, part 5 in its 6-part “Les Légendes de Bugatti” series and admire Rolls Royce’s new master class, Ghost Series II and V-Specification, before joining Land Rover as its unveils its ‘New Age of Discovery’ in partnership with Richard Branson and Virgin Galactic.

Continuing our journey in a quest for perfection, we wish to create stronger relationships with our friends in the world of luxury bringing to you, our readers, an array of the very best and latest content found in the curated destination we call, the Legatto Lifestyle Magazine. To begin, we are delighted to have hosted RJ-Romain Jerome’s CEO Manuel Emch in an exclusive interview exploring his unique design concept and life. A year of high expectations and anticipation, we turn on the heat in style as the F1 Season sets pace in our pursuit of passion in everything affiliated to luxury. The spectacular British Polo Day series gets off to superb start as we celebrate the Chinese ‘Year of the Horse’, starting in Abu Dhabi, and featuring 10 magnificent countries in an unforgettable series. Next, following the excitement of this years Academy Awards show, we take a look at the anticipated cinematic flicks set for release. Spring’s blooming and nature’s art is captured none better than in fashion. Focusing on the latest designs by Crombie, and trendsetters in Menswear Autumn/Winter 14-15 shows and Spring/Summer 2014 collection, our fashionistas give in-depth insights to the minds of top designers. Showcasing in this issues horology segment are the finest pieces on the market. For Men, we feature on select sports & skeleton pieces from Breguet, Linde Werdelin to Hublot, whilst at the turn of the page, we focus on ladies elegant artistic and high jewellery collections from famous watchmakers combining meticulousness in tradition with mastery of precious stones. This year’s SIHH exhibition was certainly one for the books in our opinion as on-show, prominent watchmakers showcased jaw-dropping complications. Jetting off to the effervescent city that never sleeps, discover a selection of the finest things New York City has to offer. America’s cultural capital, New York City is a quintessential destination for luxury seekers. Our editors explore the City’s fabulous five-star hotels, then stop at the finest spots for culinary dining experiences, visit the Statue of Liberty, head off on a shopping spree on Fifth Avenue major outlets, before being entertained by nightfall on Broadway Streets. In New York, time is of an essence, so prepare well. For automobiles, as luxury car manufacturers go green, we take a look at some of the hybrids vehicles set to hit the street. For those with the need for speed, we debut Lamborghini’s Huracan – the latest bull on the scene, before turning to the evolutionary Pagani Zonda R. This summer Legatto Lifestyle Magazine jets off to the continent of Asia with the sumptuous city of Singapore taking centre stage as our Featured City. As we passed through the city’s numerous restaurants, shopping outlets and night-time hotspots, it was clear to us that Singapore was indeed an excellent and befitting location to continue our featured city series. The magnanimous Marina Bay Sands hotel, boasts of a must-visit skypark, 44 different restaurants and an infinity rooftop pool, making it an irresistible choice to graces this issue’s front cover. Our fashion segment takes us to Milan Fashion Week’s Autumn/Winter 2013 Collection. Glamorous to say the least, the show gave us exclusive insights into exquisitely tailor-made designs from our friends at Salvatore Ferragamo, Dolce & Gabbana and Gucci, setting the trend for the upcoming winter season. As summer hits full swing, no Legatto Lifestyle Magazine issue would be complete without taking a peek at some of this season’s trends and a look at some of the latest most amazing and intricate timepieces on offer. Continuing our Legatto Meets interview series, we took some time out with the sophisticated and highly successful jeweller, Anil Arjandas, gaining an exclusive insight to the inspiration behind his brand. And last but not least, we hit the roads with some of the most-anticipated cars of 2013. From sublime contours to revving engines, we take an in-depth special look at Ferrari’s limited edition LaFerari and admire Lamborghini master class, Veneno, before joining Aston Martin in its Centenary celebrations.
