Maria Sharapova launches clothing line with Henri Bendel

Known for her eclectic yet sophisticated style, both on and off the tennis court, Maria Sharapova is making the fashion world take notice of her design sensibilities. Sharapova has launched her debut range of clothing and accessories under her Sugarpova label. Last year, she launched a collection of sweets and confectionery as part of her Sugarpova label, and now Sharapova has branched out into fashion and beauty. The pieces in her clothing line will all feature her signature Sugarpova lips motif as seen on the candy packaging.

As featured on the Henri Bendel site (henribendel.com), Sharapova’s line is youthful and classically stylish all at once. From accessories such as studded pave earrings and brightly coloured and patterned cosmetic cases, her debut line holds a promise of playful sophistication. The range of simple t-shirts with the Sugarpova lips motif come in a range of colours and because of the simple silhouette, they’re easily wearable yet casually stylish.

The Sugarpova collection is now available to buy on www.henribendel.com

Krutika Pathi

Krutika Pathi is currently pursuing her undergraduate degree in Media and Cultural Studies at Lancaster University and so divides her time between Lancaster and Bangalore, her hometown. Her degree, which focuses on critically considering cultural industries, provides her with an interesting insight on how fashion and consumer culture is a highly varied and subjective field that allows her to contribute a sense of interpretive understanding to her articles. Coming from a family whose business is in creating and exporting pure silks, an appreciation for design and textiles has been a part of her childhood. Further inspired by her mother’s antique gold heritage jewellery and collection of vintage handbags, her sense of style and keen aesthetic for fashion stems from memories of home. Perusing through copies of Vogue since the age of twelve, Krutika enjoys looking at and writing about fashion as a form of art and leisure.
