Jason Wu for Lâncome

The rumours of this powerful collaboration began back in February, and now the highly anticipated range of beauty products developed by designer Jason Wu and Lancôme are officially ready for sale.

Jason Wu, who is known for his distinctive aesthetic that celebrates and enhances the woman’s form, it is no surprise that the collection is sophisticated, girly and glamorous. Each eye shadow palette has five shimmery shades to choose from- two of which include a rich Yves Klein blue, one of Wu’s signature colours. Pressed powder shadows, lipsticks, nail polishes, liquid liners and mascara are all available in the Wu x Lancôme collection.

When it comes to the packaging and design of the products, Wu was very particular about his vision as he told WWD, “I think it will stand out on the beauty floor because I don’t think anyone else is using gray for their collection right now. I think the packaging part is as special as what’s inside.”

The limited edition collection are outfitted in dove gray packaging, another one of Wu’s signature colours, and will go on sale at Nordstrom and Bergdorf Goodman in New York during New York Fashion Week.

Her degree, which focuses on critically considering cultural industries, provides her with an interesting insight on how fashion and consumer culture is a highly varied and subjective field that allows her to contribute a sense of interpretive understanding to her articles. Coming from a family whose business is in creating and exporting pure silks, an appreciation for design and textiles has been a part of her childhood. Further inspired by her mother’s antique gold heritage jewellery and collection of vintage handbags, her sense of style and keen aesthetic for fashion stems from memories of home. Perusing through copies of Vogue since the age of twelve, Krutika enjoys looking at and writing about fashion as a form of art and leisure.
