Stella McCartney Designs Limited Edition Canon Bag And Names It After Her Mother

Stella McCartney a British fashion designer best known for her eponymous label, spent her formative years as a child travelling the world with her parents; former Beatles Paul McCartney and musician, photographer and animal rights activist Linda McCartner, with an affection of capturing those precious moments in photographs, much like her mother.

So when a special collaboration request came knocking by technology giants Canon, Stella McCartney took up the offer and infused her creativity in fashion by designing a Canon camera bag on behalf of her mother, Linda McCartney. Combing avant grande fashion and technology with style and creativity the limited edition camera bag called Linda will be sold together with the Canon EOS 100D White DSLR camera, the world’s smallest DSLR.

“Growing up with a mother and a sister who are photographers, I have fond memories of them pulling out cameras from their bags snapping and capturing moments. It was a no brainer to create a bag for this brilliant Canon camera, because it was really exciting to design something fashionable and stylish that encourages people to take photographs,”

The special design collaboration between Canon and Stella McCartney was presented at the launch of the 2014 London Stella McCartney Green Carpet Collection during London Fashion Week. Being a limited edition, only 1,000 bags will be produced and will only be available as a special package with the EOS 100D White. And what’s more, the Linda camera bag can also be used as a sophisticated everyday handbag. The box-shaped bag is made using Eco Alter Nappa leather and is featured in matte neutral tones and metallic finish. It has an adjustable strap to be worn either over the shoulder or as a handheld tote.
