Sneak Peek: Cannes Boat Show 2013

Visitors to the Festival de Plaisance in Cannes, this September 10-15, will get a first look at around 100 new boats, each more luxurious than the last. Here we take a look at the five models likely to stand out as the most impressive.

A yacht with aeronautical influences

Monokini 44M Baglietto deck

The Monokini, measuring 44 meters long and 8.3 meters across, can take on up to 10 passengers and 8 crew members. The aerodynamic exterior curves of this seafaring giant were developed by Francesco Paszkowski, while designer Alberto Mancini has created its stylish interior.

A luxury home on the water

Princess Yachts 98MY

The Princess Yachts 98MY is a houseboat whose comfort and style rivals that of a palatial home. The living and dining rooms are enclosed by large picture windows, and the main deck provides access to a relaxation area with comfortable chairs for kicking back.

Passengers can take a dip through the electro-hydraulic bath, which can also be used to put a jet-ski in the water. 8 to 10 guests can settle into the cabins, and the crew can be composed of six members.

A sailboat for lovers

Admiral Tecnomar Silent 76

Admiral Tecnomar designed the Silent 76 specifically for a two-person crew, making it an ideal boat for a romantic getaway on the seas. The garage can hold a 3.2m tender or a jet ski.

A racing boat for cruising at over 40 knots

Frauscher speedboat 2013

The 858 Fantom, a masterpiece of design and innovation by Frauscher, comes with a diesel or fuel engine of up to 430 hp, allowing for speeds of up to 48 knots. Passengers can catch some rays on the large sunbathing platform while relaxing to the sound of the Bose audio system.
