Monaco Yacht Show 24 – 27 September 2014: The Harbour of Fine Yachting

This fall, the greatest show on earth returning to Monaco, will be the best yet.

With a line-up of 115 spectacular yachts and potentially 30 luxury tenders as well as an insightful exhibition paying homage to the most celebrated and finest suppliers to the industry. The high numbers reflects the high demand for exhibiting grand yachts in Monaco’s famous Port by visitors and clients.

One for all and all to see…the annual, one-of-a-kind event that acts as a magnet attracting billionaires from across the planet, many strolling around  the docks inconspicuously as they catch up on the latest super yacht trends and buyers guides. Monaco, a princely destination well established as the stable on the Mediterranean cruising grounds and has a illustrious history as the number one destination for super yacht owners, guests, clients and companies, making Monaco a natural harbour for such a exclusive and unique event.

From the 115 floating palaces ranging from 25 to 100 m scheduled to be exhibited at Monaco this September, around forty will be publicly unveiled for the first time. The Monaco Yacht Show for builders is an annual event to showcase their  fine luxury yachts en mass.

A pick from some of finest super yachts on the list to attend the show are Solandge the 85m highly luxurious family orientated vessel delivered last October by Lürssen. A beauty in the waves, she has been conspicuously engineered for self-sufficiency during extended voyages on the high seas.

Second on the rooster is the Como, a new 46m yacht by Feadship. With her modern bow and whaleback sheer, the exterior design of this new build reflects the owner’s specific ideas with large windows in the hull and glass in the superstructure that offers spectacular uninterrupted views from the owner’s stateroom. Out of the four super yachts being displayed by the Admiral shipyard, the new 47m Entourage will be their largest.

Most exquisitely for those seeking pure yachting pleasure it is worthwhile noting on your pamphlet the elegant and distinguished sailing yachts that will be exhibited at the Show this year: Wisp is the new 48m classic sloop by the Dutch shipyard, Royal Huisman, she is a fine example of revival naval architecture by Hoek Design. The owner’s brief was for a boat that would perform well without excessive heel, thus allowing comfortable cruising and at the same time a little ‘gentleman’s racing.

These few examples of 2014 launches are typical of the ultra chic and sophisticated fleet of super yachts that will be unveiled at the Monaco Yacht Show. For Gaëlle Tallarida, the show’s Managing Director the comparison of Monaco’s super yacht offering with Haute Couture collections is clearly obvious:

“In super yachting, as well as in Haute Couture, everything is possible, harmonious and luxurious with only the best of the best materials being used. Designers enjoy saying that the only limit to creating a yacht is the limit of the owner’s imagination!

Each yacht is made possible by the work of hundreds of specialised and passionate employees. By listening carefully to the expectations and requests of both market professionals and yacht owners the MYS strives to bring the two together in a befitting business ambience.”

The Monaco Yacht Show attracts industry experts and leaders as well as high net worth individuals and ultra-wealthy clientèle from around the world and offers high-class services to exceed the demands of this elite, A-class clientèle: from VIP passes, luxury courtesy car services, helicopters to bus or boat shuttles.
