You can’t go wrong with black. Breitling and Bentley know this, and the new B06 Midnight Carbon limited edition series proves it.
The Midnight Carbon timepiece is based on the Bentley B06. It maintains the exclusive 30-second chronograph system inspired by a 1926 Breitling patent and based on a central hand sweeping around the dial in half a minute. The B06 Midnight Carbon’s satin-brushed steel case and bezel are coated with a carbon-based black finish and its dial is backed in black mother-of-pearl coupled with matte finished counters. The knurled motif on its bezel is a nod to the famous radiator grilles that stare at you from the front of cars like Bentley’s Mulsanne and Flying Spur.
The watch’s dial holds another feature exclusive to Breitling for Bentley – a variable tachymeter that is based on a circular rule. Alongside the chronograph, the tachymeter works a system that measures average speed of time elapsed, distance covered or speed reached.
On the back of the watch, there’s a transparent caseback that allows you to see an oscillating weight shaped to look like the wheel rims found on Bentleys. According to Luxois.com, “The movement beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour.”
The Midnight Carbon B06 is a 500-piece limited edition series with a 70-hour power reserve and a water resistance rating of 100 metres. You get to show this stunning timepiece off with either a crocodile rubber strap or a Bentley rubber with the Bentley signature on it. It’s indicative starting price is $12,515.
