Earlier on in March, Chanel launched its online beauty platform, Beauty Talks. In the latest episode of Chanel Beauty Talks, British actress, Keira Knightley shows us the beauty in character. She teaches us in three minutes just how easily your makeup application can affect your personality. Keira exchanges makeup secrets with the Global Creative Makeup and Colour Designer for Chanel, Lucia Pica, as she transforms her looks into a sultry vampy mien.

During the talk, Keira explains that she gets far too confused using brushes, and usually ends up using her fingers and when you have enormous eyebrows like hers, they need to be combed, and often. She also added that you need a professional to do that. While lining Keira’s lips, Lucia tells us that using a dark lip colour can make your lips appear smaller. When in doubt, go light. Keira shows us that you can do subtle things that would give hints of a character to a face, as she dabs at her rouge lips, and smudges the tint on her cheeks. An unconventional move, but it gave perfection to the final look.

From Lucia, we learned that certain makeup looks are better lived in, which is why your makeup almost always fits better the morning after.
